Virtualization Plan and Design

Plan and Design projects focused on a targeted set of applications, servers and infrastructure for consolidation and/or containment. This Plan and Design phase is then repeated for each iteration of targeted infrastructure for virtualization.

Engagement Tasks consist of: 

•  Design enablement knowledge transfer workshop 
•  Implementation of a prototype reference VMware Infrastructure 3 environment of up to two VMware    
   ESX Server hosts, one VMware VirtualCenter Server and VMware Converter 
•  (If not done during Assessment), Virtualization capacity and financial analysis 
• Development of VMware Infrastructure (VI) Design, including: 
          - Server hardware specifications
          - Networking and Storage specifications
          - Distribution of target Virtual Machines
          - Incorporation of application business rules
          - High availability, backup, automation and management
          - Configuration of all utilized VMware components

Project Deliverables include:

 - VI Architectural Design
 - Assembly and Configuration Guide
 - Standard Procedures
 - Test Plan
 -  Rollout Plan
