Client Challenge

As one of Asia’s most comprehensive and largest provider of communication services, this client provides converged services to the home and business. Committed to pursue growth in the global information and communications technology (ICT) arena and to fulfill requirements for Sarbanes-Oxley requirements in the United States, this company sought to develop an improved network inventory system and to integrate the order entry and billing systems. Additionally, the provider wanted to implement a visualization solution to enable access to underlying asset management data sources through a single interface. The service provider turned to Windward to provide the needed solutions for a provisioning database and a visualization solution.

IT Solution

Windward developed, tested, and documented a provisioning and peering database with extensive auditing capability. Additionally, the solution ensured full data and user security, and provided central management via an interactive web interface. During development, Windward held regular code reviews with client staff to enable them to manage the application after completion. In the process of developing these solutions, Windward upgraded and enhanced the fault and performance management applications operating in the client’s environment, enabling them more effectively leverage the hardware already in use.

After deploying the provisioning database, Windward then developed and implemented a visualization solution based on the Adobe Flex framework, following a structured project methodology that involved all stakeholders and utilizing a unified design, development, and deployment process. Windward created a single interface to access underlying asset management data sources and rendered raw data into well-designed visuals, ranging from charts to data-linked action items and text tables, to allow quick understanding.
